At our review on 13 September 2026, the park’s official Via dell’Amore instructions required a reserved date and entry time for standard tourist admission, with one-way travel from Riomaggiore toward Manarola. The instructions describe the Cinque Terre Card Plus arrangements. Separate provisions apply to some residents and accommodation guests; ask your host whether you qualify for a guest card before buying.
Check that official page again before booking. Confirm what your ticket includes, the entrance, the time slot and any accessibility arrangements you need. Temporary closures or changed rules can affect a plan made earlier.
Leave a comfortable buffer before your entry time, and decide how you will continue from Manarola. A train journey back or onward may fit better than adding another walk you have not researched.
A village stroll and a longer hike are different plans
Do not assume that every coastal path between the five villages is open, or that all routes are equally easy. Consult the park’s current trail network information for the specific section you intend to walk.
The official hiker’s handbook is a useful starting point for preparation. Check terrain, footwear requirements, weather and the time needed to finish before you set out. Carry water and keep a return option in mind.
